Job summary

Shurtape Technologies in North Brunswick, NJ is seeking a Purchasing professional to source materials, manage the purchasing supply chain, and approve requisitions and POs. This role has a direct impact on organizational success.

You will work with domestic and international vendors, optimize min/max levels, develop cost reduction strategies, and coordinate with Sales, Production and Finance to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost management.
  • Strong negotiation and written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Three+ years’ experience with MRP in a mid-size manufacturing company.
  • Proficiency with an ERP system and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Source new and alternate vendors domestically and internationally.
  • Approve requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Manage the purchasing supply chain and update PO dates based on vendor lead times.
  • Communicate changes to Sales, Production and Finance.
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies and contract management procedures.
  • Improve cost efficiency and control excess inventory with vendors.
  • Support cost reduction strategies and pricing for new product development.

Other duties may be assigned.Source new and alternate vendors for materials, equipment, and supplies - domestically and internationally.Approve requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.Manage the purchasing supply chain. Review and update purchase order promise dates based on changes in vendor lead times and minimum order quantities. Effectively communicate significant changes to Sales, Production and Finance. Recommend min/max levels for key raw materials.Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.Timely resolution of vendor claims to maximize credits.Provide pricing suggestions for new product development.Develop cost reduction strategies while maintaining positive vendor relationships.Proactively control excess inventory levels, working with vendors and internal departments.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
