Job summary

Greiner Bio-One in Monroe, NC invites an experienced Purchasing Agent to manage external supplier relationships, determine items and quantities from ERP demand signals, and maintain inventory and supplier pricing. This permanent, on-site role anchors procurement activities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will issue and follow up on purchase orders, coordinate with internal teams on pricing, and develop new suppliers while driving cost reductions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Purchasing role.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Importing environment.
• Proven track record of controlling and reducing cost.
• Strong analytical and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationship with external strategic suppliers
• Determine items and quantities to be purchased, using notification of demand from ERP software and other sources
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of items
• Manage negotiations with supplier
• Coordinate supply chain prices with other internal departments
• Issue purchase orders in ERP system
• Confirm and follow up on all open or late purchase orders
• Maintain Re-order points, purchase orders, delivery dates and supplier pricing inERP
• Verify invoices, receiving documents and park in ERP for payment by accounting within required date
• File documents in appropriate location per QM system instructions
• Expedite deliveries as needed
• Develop new suppliers and sources of inventory and non-inventory items including Material Trial Process
• Process Product Modifications notification and/or support as required
• Maintain and close Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and coordinate disposition and investigation with supplier in a timely manner
• Maintain all QM documentation as assigned
• Perform and present analysis projects ranging from simple to complex
• Support and cover desk of other employees as needed
• Continuous developmentof self and job skills
• Set priorities taking into account short and long term needs of the business
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Analysis tools
• Strong Analytical and math skills
• ERP Experience
• Effective oral and written communications
• College degree preferred and/or equal experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Purchasing role
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Importing environment
• Proven track record of controlling and reducing cost
• Full Driving License

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit or stand up to 12 hours and ability to lift 50lbs
