Job summary

Origin Mining Company is seeking a dedicated Procurement Specialist to manage sourcing, negotiating, and delivery of materials and services for mining operations. The role emphasizes cost-efficiency, quality, and adherence to the Supply Chain Policy, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager.

You will coordinate with all departments to ensure timely procurement, optimize ERP records, and maintain supplier performance. This on-site position is based in Golden Valley, AZ.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business or related field.
• 2+ years in procurement, preferably mining or heavy industry.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
• Familiarity with mining equipment and industry requirements is highly desirable.
• ERP proficiency and MS Office.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Procurement Management: Source equipment, materials and services; negotiate pricing and terms; ensure timely delivery; optimize inventory and delivery timing.
• Vendor Management: Identify and evaluate suppliers; conduct quarterly reviews; manage strategic supplier relationships.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure policy/regulatory compliance; maintain PO records and ERP documentation; enforce file naming conventions.
• Obtain Best Value: Monitor markets; maintain alternate suppliers; develop contingency plans; minimize supply disruptions.

Job description

The Purchaseris responsible forsourcing,procuring, and managing the supply of goods and servicesrequiredto supportCompanyoperations. This role ensures thetimelydelivery of materials, equipment, and services whilemaintainingcostefficiencyandquality standardswhile aligning with the Supply Chain Policy.

The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager andcoordinateswith all departments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement practices, and the unique demands of the mining industryand act ethically and in the best interests of the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Management:
  • Source andprocureequipment, materials, and servicesto support Company activities.
  • Negotiate pricing, and terms with suppliersbased upon technical requirements provided by End Usersto achieve the best economic outcomes for the Company.
  • Ensuretimelydelivery of materials,equipmentand servicesto meetCompanyschedules.
  • Collaborate withCompany stafftooptimizedelivery timingand inventory management.
  • Monitor andmaintaininventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Maintainaccurate,completeand up to date records in the Company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)system
  • Utilize the ERP functionality to assist with forecasting demand, order entry and tracking, report generationand etc.
• Vendor Management:
  • Identifyandprepareevaluations ofpotential suppliers to ensure quality,timelinessand reliability.
  • Conduct periodic vendor reviews to assess performance and compliance with contracts/agreementsand Company expectations; to occur at least quarterly for primary suppliers.
  • Take a long-term viewwith strategic suppliers for key commodities.
• Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance withCompany policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Utilize the ERP system tomaintainaccuraterecords of purchase ordersandsupporting documentation.
  • Ensure that all Vendor agreements aremaintainedintheassigned location and following file/folder naming conventions on theCompany’s server
  • Monitor and report on procurement metrics, includingvalue obtained (cost and quality metrics)andvendorperformance.
• Obtain Best Value:
  • Monitormarkettoidentifyopportunitiesto enhance value to the Company.
  • Mitigate risks bymaintaining a database of alternate supply sourcesanddevelopcontingency plans.
  • Maintain market awareness toanticipateand recommend actions to minimizesupply chain disruptions.

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in business or recognized designationin Procurement Management,ora relatedfield.
• 2+ years of experience inprocurement,preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
• Familiarity with mining equipment, materials, and industry-specific requirements is highly desirable.
• Proficiencyin enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment witha strongattention to detail.
