The Purchasing Agent executes the planning and management of all activities involved in procurement, conversion, and logistics. General areas of responsibility include coordination and collaboration with suppliers, intermediaries, third-party service providers, and customers; integration of supply and demand management for Signature Hardware. Positions in purchasing are responsible for purchasing the services and supplies necessary for the organization's operations.

This is a Hybrid role based out of Erlanger, KY or Newport News, VA location, in accordance with the CompanyFlex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote.

Responsibilities :

• Work effectively with both domestic and foreign suppliers
• Place purchase orders with domestic and foreign suppliers, expediting, and providing customer service functions as needed
• Review Order Confirmations for accuracy
• Create, review and amend Letters of Credit
• Work with overseas vendors to estimate container stuffing for maximum cost effectiveness
• Negotiate ship dates with suppliers to ensure goods arrive in a timely manner.
• Reconciliation of payable discrepancies
• Liaise with Product Development Team to anticipate their demand for goods and materials
• Review inventory requests, production schedules, and other information to coordinate purchasing activities with the organization’s current and anticipated demand for goods and materials
• Monitor the timeliness of materials and goods supplied; follow-up on the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery and communicate status to internal customers
• Resolve vendor related issues regarding delivery, timing, quantity and specifications

Qualifications :

• 7 + years of experience with purchasing and data entry
• Ability to work with vendors via email whose primary language is not English
• Exceptional math skills, detail oriented and high level of organization
• Strong ability to use Excel, Outlook Email, and Reporting Software
• Experience working effectively with a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal customers in a clear, focused and concise manner
• Self-starter that has initiative to learn new things
• Capacity to act as a problem solver
• Time management, organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
• Must be able to work independently maintaining a fast pace
• Excellent people skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams and suppliers

Pay Range : 3,600.00 - $7,791.30

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
