Elevate Human Capital is seeking an Industrial Material Purchaser to manage procurement, inventory planning, and supplier relationships for carbon and stainless-steel fittings and flanges. The role supports multiple stocking locations and collaborates with sales, quality, and operations to optimize stock and costs.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years PVF purchasing experience, strong negotiation skills, and advanced Excel capabilities to analyze demand and pricing trends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years purchasing experience in PVF industry preferred.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Familiarity with product specifications.
• Ability to analyze data on demand, inventory levels, and pricing trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUBTOTAL, INDEX/MATCH).

Responsabilités

• Generate and review buy lists prior to quotes.
• Send lists to vendors for pricing, availability and delivery schedules.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery and terms while balancing risk.
• Create and manage purchase orders from placement through delivery.
• Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages.
• Coordinate with internal departments to screen potential suppliers.
• Resolve claims and request corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Approve invoices for payment.
• Collaborate with sales, product management and payables to optimize supply chain.
• Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and international manufacturers.
• Travel may be required to visit suppliers domestically and globally.

EHC is currently looking for an Industrial Material Purchaser for a client in the south Houston, TX area.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the procurement, inventory planning, and supplier management of carbon and/or stainless-steel fittings and flanges for multiple stocking locations across the country. This position works closely with suppliers, sales, quality, and operations to ensure appropriate stock levels and competitive costs while supporting customer service and profitability objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Generate and review buy lists prior to sending them out for quote
• Send lists to vendors to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery schedules
• Negotiate pricing, delivery, and commercial terms while balancing risk to the company
• Create and manage purchase orders from placement through delivery
• Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages
• Work with internal departments to identify and screen potential suppliers
• Quickly resolve claims and request corrective actions for non-conformances
• Approve invoices for payment
• Work closely with sales, product management, payables, and other departments to ensure an efficient supply chain
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international manufacturers
• Some travel may be required to visit new and current suppliers, both domestically and globally

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business operations, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience specific to the PVF industry preferred
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Familiarity with product specifications
• Ability to analyze large amounts of data related to product demand, inventory levels, and pricing trends
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Above-average proficiency in Excel, including formulas such as XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUBTOTAL, INDEX/MATCH, etc.
