Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Managing and controlling all the company’s external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of Materials and finished parts for production
• Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production
• Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company’s needs
• Responsible for planning and buying materials, parts, equipment rentals and project materials in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Identify new suppliers, agreement terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates
• Issue purchase orders and requisitions in accordance with Company policy obtaining proper authorization
• Verify receipt of goods and record
• Foster close working relationships with associated departments e.g. Accounts Payable, Engineering and Production
• Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down costs
• Carry out a comprehensive review of the Purchasing function and its methodology and identify and implement improvements
• Supervise the Tool Room employees
• Any reasonable task requested by the Company
  
  

Education, Skills, And Abilities Required

• Minimum 3 years previous experience in a Construction/Precast Purchasing role
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Proven track record of controlling and reducing spending while developing a robust supplier base
• Experience in construction or manufacturing
• Coordinating with suppliers and personnel, to achieve resolutions to supplier quality concerns, invoicing issues and past due accounts
• Management and coordination of purchasing activities
• Experience in quote solicitation, cost analysis and budgets
