• 2+ years in purchasing, supply chain, or logistics (construction/manufacturing preferred).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP experience a plus.
• Knowledge of shipping methods and freight coordination.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase materials per project requirements.
• Develop vendor relationships for pricing, quality assurance, and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate logistics across branches and project sites.
• Track inventory levels with warehouse staff.
• Review and process purchase orders for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor open orders and resolve delays with suppliers and freight carriers.
• Prepare and maintain purchasing and logistics records.
• Identify procurement savings to support cost-control initiatives.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to align schedules.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing the logistics process to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of materials. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, fabrication, and project management teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

• Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies in alignment with project requirements and company standards.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing, quality assurance, and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate logistics, including shipping, receiving, and distribution of materials to various branches and project sites.
• Track inventory levels and collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure adequate stock availability.
• Review and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
• Monitor open orders and resolve discrepancies or delays with suppliers and freight carriers.
• Prepare and maintain purchasing and logistics records, reports, and documentation.
• Support cost-control initiatives by identifying opportunities for savings in procurement and transportation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to align purchasing and delivery schedules with project deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or logistics (construction or manufacturing industry preferred).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of shipping methods, freight coordination, and logistics are best practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
