Job summary

AmeriTech Staffing, Inc. is seeking an experienced Buyer in the Houston area to support customer orders, manage inventory needs, and maintain supplier relationships.

You will handle purchasing, vendor communications, purchase orders, pricing, and order follow-up in a fast-paced environment. The role requires 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle/NetSuite preferred), and strong Excel and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or industrial distribution experience preferred.
• ERP systems; Oracle or NetSuite preferred.
• Knowledge of purchase orders, vendor quotes, lead times, freight, and supplier negotiations.
• Strong Excel, Outlook, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Source products, materials, and services from qualified suppliers.
• Request and compare vendor quotes, pricing, lead times, and freight costs.
• Create and manage purchase orders and vendor acknowledgments.
• Monitor open orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and help reduce shortages or excess stock.
• Resolve pricing, quantity, shipping, damaged material, and invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records within the ERP system.
• Work closely with sales, warehouse, accounting, quality, and management.

Requirements

• ERP systems; Oracle or NetSuite preferred
• Knowledge of purchase orders, vendor quotes, lead times, freight, and supplier negotiations
• Strong Excel, Outlook, organizational, and communication skills
• Able to work accurately and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
