Purchaser

The Purchaser is accountable for providing product specifications, processing orders, collecting quotes, negotiating prices, and managing inventory.

DAY IN THE LIFE:
  • Review sales orders for accuracy of materials, pricing, cost, dates, and all other fields
  • Consistently work with suppliers to update delivery dates when lead times change
  • Establish and monitor deliveries and delivery schedules; ensure lead times are honored
  • Work with suppliers to collect and assemble quotes for internal customer review
  • Coordinate with Logistics Coordinator on international shipments and commercial invoices
  • Coordinate with the Finance Department to reconcile orders, manage inventory, receive goods, and all other procurement and reporting needs
  • Coordinate with Shipper/Receivers regarding order accuracy (physical scale), shipping, and quality
  • Coordinate domestic purchasing and warehouse activities as needed, including inventory counts
  • Investigate and resolve system and supplier issues for internal customers
  • Work within all PD company policies, including purchasing, safety, and compliance
  • Be available after hours to assist rigs with critical parts and issue goods
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
  • We require a minimum of 5 years of previous experience in procurement, with a degree or diploma specializing in supply chain management as an asset.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred, and any ERP experience is an asset to the proficiency of this position.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, strong time management, organizational, and attention to detail skills, and can work as part of a dynamic team.
  • Possesses a proven ability to develop excellent customer relations, and has a strong knowledge of oilfield consumables requirements, i.e., drilling, well servicing, snubbing, manufacturing, vendors)
  • Must be committed to safety and the promotion of a safe work environment
