Job summary

Diamondback America in Town of Florida, NY is seeking a Purchaser to maintain daily purchasing activities using forecasts and MRP, with deep knowledge of manufacturing, inventory and supply chain management. You will work with suppliers, determine quantities and delivery timing, monitor upcoming demand, and negotiate prices and terms while ensuring quality standards.

Requirements include at least 1 year of experience as a Purchaser/Buyer and in inventory/supply chain management; strong Microsoft

Qualifications

  • Must have deep knowledge of manufacturing, inventory and supply chain management.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Purchaser/Buyer.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in inventory and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP software; QuickBooks experience preferred.
  • Excellent foresight and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily purchasing activities using the forecast and MRP.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
  • Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
  • Work with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal departments.
  • Stay current with existing and upcoming projects (attend weekly project meetings).
  • Maintain open purchase orders/backorders and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
  • Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
  • New item creation in QuickBooks.
  • Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate lower pricing.
  • Search and source potential suppliers and vendors.
  • Provide reports for management.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking.
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks of current market/economy trends that may affect demand.

Hours
  • 1st shift position
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Overtime as needed
Special Requirements

Candidates that accept an offer of employment will be required to pass a background and drug screen. Candidates must also meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.
