Job summary

Echo Lake Foods, a leading egg products manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented Purchaser to support daily purchasing operations and ensure timely procurement of goods and services at our Owensboro facility. You will work closely with vendors, internal departments, and Accounting to maintain accurate records and support budgets.

Key duties include negotiating terms, tracking spend, creating POs, and resolving invoice discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong data entry and spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent communication with vendors and internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
• Experience with purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or related functions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and delivery with vendors.
• Track spending and compare quotes to identify cost savings.
• Log orders into facility GL spreadsheets and monitor budgets.
• Submit requisitions and follow approval processes.
• Create purchase orders in the CMMS/ERP system and ensure accuracy.
• Verify receiving records against purchase orders and confirm items were received.
• Coordinate with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Close completed purchase orders and maintain purchasing records.
• Perform additional purchasing and administrative duties as assigned.

Echo Lake Foods is seeking a detail-oriented Purchaser to support daily purchasing operations and ensure the timely procurement of goods and services. This role works closely with vendors, internal departments, and Accounting to maintain accurate purchase records, control costs, and support operational needs throughout the facility.

Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday

Key Qualifications

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data entry
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, internal departments, and finance teams
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
• Experience with purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or related functions preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors
• Track spending and compare quotes to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Log all orders into facility GL spreadsheets and monitor monthly budgets by cost center
• Follow established approval processes when submitting requisition requests
• Create purchase orders within the CMMS system and ensure all information is entered accurately
• Verify receiving records against purchase orders to confirm items were received as ordered
• Submit completed purchase order documentation to the Accounting Department
• Coordinate with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies and missing documentation
• Close completed purchase orders once all items have been received and reconciled
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
• Perform additional purchasing and administrative duties as assigned

Preferred Experience

• Purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or supply chain experience
• Experience working with ERP, CMMS, or purchasing systems
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor management
