Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a Setup Operator in Wood Dale, IL. You will install fixtures, set tooling, and verify first-piece integrity to ensure accurate production.

You will troubleshoot tooling, adjust settings, and run the press as needed while maintaining safety and cleanliness on the shop floor. Requires reading blueprints, basic shop math, OSHA training (LOTO, Hazard Communication, PPE, Evacuation), forklift certification, and experience with hoist/crane equipment.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets blueprints and work instructions.
• Basic shop math for material measurement and tolerances.
• Technical knowledge of assigned machines and safety procedures.
• Distinguishes stainless steel, cold rolled steel, and similar materials.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.
• OSHA training in Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, PPE, and Evacuation.
• Forklift operation certification; hoist and crane equipment familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Review work instructions and ensure all components are ready (material, lubricants, packaging).
• Identify material thickness and gauge; verify using appropriate gauges.
• Transport tools to machines using cart, tray, or forklift.
• Set and position tooling, adjust for accurate feeds, and run first piece for inspection.
• Operate machine to meet production requirements and verify outputs against drawings.
• Visually inspect parts for burrs, scrapes, rust; check against prints with gauges.
• Adjust machine settings as needed and perform routine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and document required paperwork.
• Communicate issues to supervisor and assist operators on complex jobs.

Install fixtures; make manual check of first piece; help operator as necessary. Troubleshoot tools and die protection.
