Job summary

A manufacturing company in Stratford, Connecticut is seeking an individual to operate punch press machines and ensure quality standards in production. The ideal candidate will have previous manufacturing experience, particularly with punch press equipment. Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience operating punch press or similar fabrication equipment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail required.
  • Willingness to learn new machines, processes and skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate punch press machines to fabricate parts per work orders.
  • Inspect parts during and after production to ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area according to safety standards.
  • Measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Perform basic setups, tool changes, and adjustments as trained.
  • Identify and report quality issues, machine malfunctions, or safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area per 5S and safety standards.
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and cross-training opportunities to expand skillset.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate punch press machines to fabricate parts per work orders, drawings, and specifications
  • Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
  • Inspect parts during and after production to ensure quality standards are met
  • Measure parts using basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Perform basic setups, tool changes, and adjustments as trained
  • Identify and report quality issues, machine malfunctions, or safety concerns
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety standards
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in training and cross-training opportunities to expand skillset

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise and moving equipment
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
  • CNC punch press experience
  • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication
  • Experience with quality inspection processes
  • Forklift or material handling experience
