Job summary

The Malco Group in Minnesota seeks a dedicated metal fabrication technician to set up stamping presses, dies, and feed lines, perform changeovers, and ensure first-piece quality before production runs.

You will operate MIG, TIG, and spot welding equipment, inspect dies and presses daily, and perform routine lubrication and safety checks to maintain production schedules. A High School Diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one (1) year of metal stamping, welding, manufacturing, or related industrial experience preferred.
• Experience with press setup, feed line operation, and welding processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust metal stamping presses, dies, and feed line equipment to meet product specifications.
• Perform tooling and equipment changeovers efficiently to achieve routing and setup time goals.
• Verify first-piece quality and make necessary adjustments before production runs.
• Troubleshoot setup issues and implement corrective actions to maintain production requirements.
• Ensure tooling and equipment are properly aligned and operating safely.
• Operate metal stamping presses safely and efficiently to meet production schedules.
• Monitor part quality throughout production runs to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Inspect dies, presses, and related equipment daily.
• Perform routine lubrication, greasing, and oiling of equipment.
• Identify and resolve basic operational issues to minimize downtime.

Physical Requirements

• Standing/walking 95+ percent of the time on a hard surface
