Job summary

City of Miami Beach seeks a responsible, experienced supervisor for installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing water, stormwater, sewer pumping, and control equipment. You will lead crews, ensure safe working conditions, and respond to emergencies 24/7.

The role emphasizes pumping stations and related facilities, requiring licenses, certifications, and the ability to coordinate with multiple agencies. Training and advancement within the Pump Shop are available.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
Must obtain Class B CDL with air brake endorsements within 12 months.
Must obtain FWPCOA Level 3 Utilities Maintenance within 12 months.
Must obtain FDEP Class 3 Water Distribution License or Class C WTPO within 18 months.
Must obtain NIMS 100/200/700/800 within six months.
Must obtain Intermediate MOT within 12 months.

Responsibilities

Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of water, stormwater, and sewer pumping equipment and facilities.
Train and evaluate skilled and unskilled workers.
Respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
Operate pumping stations and control equipment to maintain pressure and flow.
Maintain safety standards and prepare performance records.
Coordinate with design, inspection, regulatory, and other agencies.
