Qualifications

• 5 years of pump and motor repair experience is recommended.
• Ability to solder and braze up to 4 inches is preferred.
• Knowledge of fire pump systems is preferred.
• Must have OSHA 30 certification or the ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
• Clean driver’s license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Rebuild electric motors and replace fan bearings.
• Perform high and low voltage troubleshooting and wiring.
• Execute electrical and mechanical troubleshooting tasks safely.
• Utilize power tools for various tasks related to maintenance.
• Teach and mentor others as needed.

Job description

Pump Mechanic

Job Type: Full Time, On Site

Compensation: $40–$60 per hour

Responsibilities

• Independently rebuild electric motors, replace fan bearings, and rebuild both packed and mechanically sealed pumps.
• Perform high and low voltage troubleshooting and wiring.
• Perform controller and VFD installations.
• Execute electrical and mechanical troubleshooting tasks safely and efficiently.
• Safely utilize power tools and machine shop equipment for tasks such as drilling out broken bolts, machining shaft sleeves, and simple fabrication tasks.
• Safely rig equipment and materials using chain blocks and come‑alongs for various tasks.
• Adapt to changing conditions and develop creative solutions when plans do not proceed as expected.
• Maintain current knowledge of fire pump systems and related code.
• Teach and mentor others when applicable while being open to learning new skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• 5 years of pump and motor repair experience (recommended).
