Job summary

BEST DRILLING AND PUMP, INC is seeking a Pump Division Operator to lead a small crew on pump rig projects across Central and Southern California. You will operate pump hoists and service trucks, install pumps, and document daily work and safety reports.

Role requires CDL A (hazardous endorsement preferred), crane certification preferred, ability to work out of town, and willingness to work long hours with per diem and strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment physical and DOT drug screen required.
• Physically fit; ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in all weather.
• Must be able to work out of town.
• Demonstrated safety consciousness and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate pump hoist rigs, service trucks, forklifts and related equipment.
• Install and remove line shaft and submersible well pumps.
• Maintain daily work, vehicle and safety records.
• Perform well work including turbine and submersible pump work and rehabilitation.
• Lead a Pump Division Laborer on scheduled projects.

Job description

As a Pump Division Operator you can expect to work on teams of 2 to 3 members as the lead. Projects include in town and out of town locations in Central and Southern California. Tasks include driving pump rigs and service trucks to and from jobsites, pump and well repair, chemical rehabilitation of wells, test pumping and other miscellaneous services. Employees who are required to stay close to the job site will receive a per diem allowance.

Tasks and responsibilities may include:

• Operate pump hoist rigs, service trucks, forklifts and other equipment
• Installation and removal of line shaft and submersible turbine water well pumps
• Maintain detailed records-daily work, vehicle and safety reports
• All phases of commercial, industrial and municipal well work including turbine and submersible pump work/well rehabilitation
• CDL license A (hazardous endorsement preferred or attainable)
• Crane Certification (preferred or attainable)
• Manual Required
• Manage a Pump Division Laborer assigned to assist on scheduled projects

Job physical requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (DOT)
• Must be physically fit, capable of lifting 100lbs, and should expect to work in all weather.
• Must be able to work out of town
• Possess good work ethic, speaking skills, and basic math skills
• Ability to work safely and perform long hours as needed

Wages (depending on experience)

• Prevailing Wages (project specific determined at bid date), up to $60/hr before fringe benefits detailed by the project.

Experience:

• Water Well Pump: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CA Commercial CDL A or B License (Required)
