Job summary

Georgia-Pacific's Leaf River mill in New Augusta, MS is hiring Pulp Dryer Technicians to safely operate production equipment and meet quality goals. The role involves 12-hour rotating shifts, potential weekend/holiday work, and a starting pay of $28.28 per hour.

Candidates should have at least 1 year in an industrial setting and proficiency with Word, Outlook, and Excel. Preferred are degrees in process operations or manufacturing technology and experience with pulp/paper machinery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment (includes oilfield experience).
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel for data entry or document creation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot the Pulp Dryer equipment.
• Progress through multiple skill levels to learn all operating systems in the Pulp Dryer.
• Perform equipment cleanup and operator basic care including minor maintenance tasks.
• Monitor process variables to meet department quality, cost, and production goals.
• Work twelve (12) hour rotating shifts and be a member of the Fire and Rescue Team if assigned.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and wear required safety equipment.
