Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Referral Coordinator for Navicent Health Medical Center - Pulmonology Clinic in Georgia. You will manage referrals, collect necessary documents, and coordinate with physicians, patients, and managed care organizations to ensure timely authorizations.

This role requires strong medical terminology knowledge, solid communication skills, and experience with IDX and standard hospital systems.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or GED required.
• Completion of 1 Medical Terminology class with certificate.
• 3-4 years experience in a managed care organization, hospital or physician’s office with 1 year referral experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the referral process from intake to approval.
• Collect referrals from medical staff and obtain necessary approvals.
• Process referrals based on PCP orders and provider recommendations.
• Generate correspondence and contact patients, physicians, and staff for information.
• Input referral data into the automated system and ensure documentation.
• Monitor approval status and resubmit as needed.
• Attend meetings to discuss processing changes and improve workflow.
• Educate staff on referral procedures and resolve eligibility issues.
