Davenport, Iowa, Pulmonary Critical Care Physician Opening

Clinical Role:

1. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (must have plans to test) in Pulmonary Disease AND Critical Care Medicine.
2. Completed fellowship in Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine is required prior to start (new graduates accepted).
3. Not accepting Locums or visa candidates.
4. Inpatient, Outpatient, ICU, Shared Call, and Procedures.
5. Practice Setting: medical, surgical, trauma, adult.
6. Number of Critical Care Physicians in Group: 4 full-time.
7. Schedule: Monday-Friday + call (1:4 every 4th night, every 4th weekend).
8. Average ICU Patients Per Day: max 20 with nurse practitioner support.
9. Average Non-ICU Inpatient Patients Per Physician Per Day: up to 10.
10. Average Admissions Per Physician Per Day: 5.
11. Trauma Level/Designation: III.
12. Total Beds: 500; ICU Beds: 20.
13. Supervision: Yes, of Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
14. Teaching involvement: Yes, supervising Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
15. EMR System: Cerner.
16. Ventilation Procedures: ETT/NT/Tracheostomy, BiPAP/CPAP.
17. Insertions: Central Line, Arterial Line, PA Catheter, IABP, Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube.
18. Therapeutic Taps: Thoracentesis, Paracentesis.
19. Procedures: Chest tube insertion, Bronchoscopy (with BAL), Pulmonary Function Testing, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing, Bronchoprovocation Testing, EBUS, management of various lung diseases.
20. Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days.
