The Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) seeks a board certified / board eligible faculty physician (open rank) for our expanding Lung Transplant Program. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital.

Position Highlights

• Opportunity to build a strong academic career within a collaborative, multidisciplinary transplant team
• Active involvement in the evaluation of patients being considered for lung transplantation, as well as the ongoing care of patients who have already undergone transplant
• Inpatient and outpatient activities. Inpatient care will focus on managing transplant candidates and post-transplant patients during hospitalization, working closely with surgery, critical care, infectious disease, and other specialty teams. Outpatient care will include pre-transplant assessments, longitudinal post-transplant follow-up, and participation in multidisciplinary transplant clinics.

Transplant Center Highlights

• The Transplant Center at Froedtert Hospital offers care for adults needing heart, lung, kidney, liver and pancreas transplants with Medicare & Medicaid certified programs and outcomes meeting or exceeding national benchmarks
• A joint program of Children’s Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital, with support by Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin for tissue typing and research initiatives

• The Lung Transplant Program at Froedtert Hospital includes a dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care

• Multidisciplinary team designs comprehensive treatment plans to meet each patient’s needs
• Treats all forms of lung disease with a wide array of treatment options
• Offers ECMO and lung reduction surgery, as well as the latest robotics technology
• First lung transplant program offered in Wisconsin in the 1980s
• Recent program leadership and continued growth with 19+ lung transplants completed over the past year

In addition to lung transplant surgeons and pulmonologists, the patient care team includes many trained lung transplant specialists to support patients and their families, including:

• Transplant APPs, Coordinators, Psychologists, Social Workers, Dietitians, and Pharmacists
• Respiratory Therapists
• Pulmonary Rehabilitation Specialists
