Sleep medicine, outpatient-based, full-time, employed with Lebauer Pulmonary Care.
Utilizes literature and attends regional and national meetings to remain current and professionally competent. Participates in inpatient, staff, and professional education programs, including didactic material, formal teaching conferences, clinical teaching, staff education conferences, and clinical research.
Participates in liaison duties with other professional staff, develops patient referral sources, and keeps referring physicians informed of care and outcomes.
Provides direct and indirect patient care to assigned areas, supervises the interdisciplinary team, residents, and medical students, and participates in clinical research. Ensures accurate documentation and timely sign-off of care for billing and medical records.
Models and upholds professional standards including the Medical Staff By-Laws, Service Excellence, practice standards, and professional image. Acts in accordance with MCHS Mission, Vision, and Values, demonstrating respectful relationships, integrity, confidentiality, and collegiality.
Participates in medical audits, quality improvement, peer review, and ensures safe practice standards and regulatory compliance. Provides leadership within the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
Engages in continuous improvement initiatives, evidence-based practices, and develops clinical guidelines and procedures. Shares on-call responsibilities with other physicians.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board, or equivalent international degrees.
Completed appropriate residency training, including fellowship in sleep medicine if required.
Must have completed residency approved by the ACGME, be eligible for or hold board certification in the primary medical specialty or subspecialty, and be fully licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina. Must have a current DEA registration without restrictions, maintain professional liability insurance, and meet other credentialing requirements as specified.
