Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for Pulmonary Rehabilitation in an outpatient setting to coordinate education and exercise programs for patients with chronic lung disease. You will lead twice-weekly rehab sessions, supervise maintenance exercise, perform 6-minute walk tests, and ensure compliance and data entry.

Qualifications include an Associate Degree in Respiratory Care, 3+ years of related experience, Registered Respiratory Therapist, CT license, BLS, and proficiency

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Care required.
  • Minimum of 3 years job-related experience.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
  • State of CT License as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • BLS for health care providers required.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provides pulmonary rehab program education and exercise classes twice weekly for a 6-week program.
  • Oversees the alumni maintenance exercise program offered three times per week.
  • Provides airway clearance 1:1 sessions per physician order.
  • Performs 6 Minute Walk Tests.
  • Fulfills all compliance and database responsibilities related to this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Department leadership.

Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary Rehabilitation - is responsible for facilitating the training of patients with pulmonary disease inan outpatient setting. Responsibilities of the program include instructing patients with how to live with chronic disease providing education and exercise.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides pulmonary rehab program education and exercise classes either group or 1:1 two times per week for 6 weeks
  • Oversees the alumni maintenance exercise program offered 3 times per week
  • Provides airway clearance 1:1 sessions per physician order
  • Performs 6 Minute Walk Tests
  • Fulfills all compliance and database responsibilities related to this position
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Department leadership
Education Skills Experience:

Salary Range: $29.65 - $55.55 Hourly
