Job summary

Atrium Health Pineville is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Pulmonary Division. The APP will manage pulmonary patients in inpatient, outpatient, and LTACH settings, focusing on care at the top of their license as needed.

Responsibilities include history-taking, exams, documentation, and care planning with testing and medications as appropriate. Candidates should be graduates of an accredited NP or PA program with NC licensure, and relevant acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program.
• North Carolina license, North Carolina DEA, BLS and ACLS required.
• 1–2 years APP experience preferred; Pulmonary fellowship/experience a plus.
• ACNP certification required for NPs; NCCPA for PAs.

• Obtain medical history, perform physical exam, document findings and plan care.
• Prescribe medications and order tests/procedures as appropriate.
• Participate in group meetings and quality improvement initiatives; support policy development.

Job description

Atrium Health, one of the most comprehensive public, not-for-profit healthcare systems in the nation, is actively recruiting Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Pulmonary Division at Atrium Health Pineville.

This position will focus on treatment and management of pulmonary patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting. The APP will be expected to manage acute and chronic pulmonary diseases and is encouraged to practice at the top of their license. Essential functions: obtain a medical history, physical exam, document findings and prepare a plan of care in a timely manner including prescribing medications and ordering appropriate tests/procedures. Attend, participate in and contribute to group/practice meetings, development of policies and procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.

Details of this practice and qualified candidate:

• Physical practice: Atrium Health Pineville
• Work schedule - Monday- Friday 8am-5pm, Rotation to nights / weekends only as needed for emergent/critical staffing shortages
• APP will work rotating through inpatient, outpatient, and LTACH locations
• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
• Nurse practitioners are required to have an acute care master's degree or doctorate in nursing practice. Certification as an ACNP from a nationally recognized certifying body is required
• Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of PAs is required.
• 1- 2 years of APP experience preferred; post graduate Pulmonary Medicine fellowship and/or Pulmonary Medicine experience is a plus
• North Carolina license, North Carolina DEA, BLS and ACLS required
