Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to join the Urology team. The APP will work with urologists to deliver comprehensive care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods.

Role emphasizes patient assessments, care planning, and collaboration with the medical team. Opportunities include teaching and participation in clinical projects within a high-volume, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master’s degree preferred.
• Current NC Medical Board Medical License or NC Board of Nursing license.
• BLS/CPR certification required to start.
• DEA and DPS registration for prescription writing required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient examinations and evaluations in medical/surgical settings.
• Apply medical decision-making to determine appropriate patient care plan.
• Collaborate with the medical team for effective team-based care.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain procedures to patients.
• Perform procedural skills per department guidelines.

Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, assisting in procedures, managing preoperative and postoperative care, and developing treatment plans.

Participates in team focused patient care by means of patient examinations augmented by diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations/interventions in the medical and/or surgical theatres of health care. The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.

• Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master's degree or higher required
• Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered NurseandNurse Practitioner license
• Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start.
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing is required to start.
