Job summary

Essen Health Care, a leading multispecialty medical group in New York, seeks a Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive outpatient pulmonary care. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to assess, treat, and educate patients with COPD, asthma, sleep apnea, and other respiratory conditions.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, EMR documentation, and collaboration with physicians and support staff to improve outcomes in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in hospital or outpatient settings.
• Active and unrestricted NP license.
• DEA license required.
• CPR certification (BCLS/BLS).
• Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or current NP candidacy.
• Graduation from an accredited NP program.
• Preferred: Pulmonary experience (training available).
• Preferred: Familiarity with EMR systems (Sigma/Visual/PCC).
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide pulmonology consults in outpatient settings.
• Assess and manage respiratory conditions such as COPD, asthma, sleep apnea, and chronic respiratory failure.
• Interpret pulmonary tests and imaging.
• Manage oxygen therapy, inhalers, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory medications.
• Collaborate with pulmonologists and interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory disease management and smoking cessation.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
