Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Cooley Dickinson Hospital is seeking a Pulmonary Function Technician to perform and manage pulmonary function tests, explain procedures to patients, and accurately collect and analyze data.

You will maintain testing equipment, order supplies, document results, and communicate findings to physicians within the Respiratory Care department and the 1199SEIU bargaining unit.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory care required.
• Respiratory Therapist license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Experience with pulmonary function testing equipment 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate pulmonary function testing equipment.
• Explain the tests to patients and obtain their informed consent.
• Collect and analyze data from the pulmonary function tests.
• Maintain the pulmonary function testing equipment and order supplies.
• Document pulmonary function test results.
• Communicate test results to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide patient education and support.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
