Job summary

Driscoll Health Plan is seeking a Pulmonary Function Lab Technologist to perform diagnostic testing and quality control for pulmonary function procedures. The role involves patient interaction, education, and collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in applied science (AAS) or graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • License to practice Respiratory Care issued by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credentialed by the NBRC; two years general care or one-year pediatric care preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider.
  • NRP within 1 year of hire; PALS within 1 year of hire; AE-C or NPS within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and calibrates pulmonary function testing equipment and performs tests.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots pulmonary function equipment and analyzes results for reliability.
  • Collects clinical data and documents results in the EMR.
  • Educates patients and families about respiratory care and procedures.
  • Assists with scheduling, appointments, and clerical duties for the lab.
  • Travels to off-site clinics and satellite locations to provide testing services.
