Job summary

Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, AL, seeks a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a fast-paced pulmonary diagnostics team. The role involves performing advanced pulmonary testing in an outpatient setting and collaborating with providers to improve patient respiratory health.

The ideal candidate has strong PFT experience, comfortable working independently, and a passion for pulmonary care.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and Alabama licensure required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience performing pulmonary diagnostics and respiratory testing preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret Full Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), averaging 8 or more studies per day.
• Conduct Methacholine Challenge Testing.
• Perform Maximal Voluntary Ventilation (MVV).
• Complete Maximal Inspiratory and Expiratory Pressure (MIP/MEP) Testing.
• Perform Negative Inspiratory Force (NIF) Assessments.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and testing records.
• Ensure quality control and proper operation of respiratory diagnostic equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to provide exceptional patient care.
