Job summary

The University of Chicago’s Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Section seeks a Section Administrator to manage the financial, academic, and clinical affairs of the Section in the Department of Medicine. The role serves as the lead administrative officer, planning, coordinating, and directing complex financial and management functions to support teaching, research, and patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.
• Minimum requirements include 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
• Experience in administration of academic medicine or a healthcare academic medical center.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary financial lead for the Section’s performance.
• Direct budgeting, salary recovery, and non-salary expenditures.
• Ensure billing data integrity and oversee grants/contracts.
• Provide regular financial analysis and reports to section chief.
• Supervise HR, payroll, and renewal processes for section staff.
• Collaborate with faculty and hospital administration on operations and projects.
