Job summary

The University of Chicago’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience seeks a Clinical Section Administrator to lead administrative, financial, and operational functions across clinical sections. You will drive operational excellence and coordinate with Section Chiefs and leadership to support clinical, research, and educational missions.

You will oversee budgets, analyze performance metrics, ensure policy compliance and accreditation standards, and supervise exempt and non-exempt

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
• Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
• Advanced degree in business, healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting strongly preferred.
• Experience with charge capture management and gross revenue management preferred.
• Experience with Epic revenue cycle and/or clinical applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversees clinical operations for assigned Psychiatry sections and ambulatory/hospital-based programs.
• Partners with Section Chiefs and leaders to implement operational strategies improving access, productivity, and workflows.
• Manages daily clinic workflows, scheduling, resource allocation, and space planning.
• Develops dashboards and reports to evaluate clinical performance and drive improvements.
• Leads staff supervision and professional development for administrative teams.
