Job summary

The James J. Peters VA Medical Center, part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, seeks a Physician (Pulmonary & Critical Care) to join the Specialty Care Service in New York.

The role combines inpatient ICU coverage with outpatient pulmonary care and teaching responsibilities. Candidates must hold an MD or DO, have or be eligible for board certification in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care, possess an unrestricted U.S.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from VA-approved school and board-eligible or board-certified.
• Full, unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state.
• Completion of approved residency leading to board eligibility.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient pulmonary and critical care services.
• Perform and supervise critical care procedures (central lines, intubation, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis).
• Lead cardiac arrest and rapid response teams.
• Supervise and teach residents and fellows.
• Participate in clinical research, quality assurance, and committee work.
