Job summary

The James J. Peters VA Medical Center in New York, NY, is seeking a Physician (Pulmonary & Critical Care) to join the Specialty Care Service. This role emphasizes inpatient ICU care, 12-hour shifts, and leadership of resident teams, with opportunities for outpatient pulmonary care and sleep medicine involvement.

The ideal candidate will be Board Certified/Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine with a US medical license and strong teaching and clinical skills. James J.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (any state).
• Experience with ICU procedures and critical care management.
• Ability to lead and supervise residents and fellows.
• Experience in outpatient pulmonary care and consultative services.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient ICU care in 12-hour day/night shifts.
• Perform and supervise critical care procedures (central lines, intubation, bronchoscopy/EBUS, thoracentesis, chest tube).
• Lead cardiac arrest and rapid response teams.
• Supervise residents and fellows in clinical settings.
• Provide outpatient pulmonary care and consults; sleep medicine optional.
