Atrium Health in Concord, NC seeks an Intensivist for the Cabarrus Intensive Care Unit. The role involves 24/7 ICU coverage with 13-hour shifts, focusing on complex post-op cardiac surgery and advanced mechanical support management.

Responsibilities include daily rounding, admission notes, documentation, and teaching, with CME support, PTO, and potential incentive pay. Requires ACNP/PA training and NC licensure within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ACNP or PA program.
• For NPs: Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with ACNP certification.
• For PAs: NCCPA certification.
• Post graduate ICU fellowship or CT-ICU experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and critical thinking.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Maintain mechanical support competencies and NC licensure within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Daily rounding, evaluation, management and stabilization of complex post-op cardiac surgery patients including CABG, valve replacements, complex aortic replacement, heart transplant and durable mechanical support devices.
• Admission notes, daily progress notes, and billing.
• Interpreting pulmonary artery catheter data and management of chest tubes and temporary epicardial pacing.
• Management of mechanical support devices including VADs, ECMO, and IABPs.
• Teaching opportunities with APP fellows and nursing staff.
• Eligible for overtime, differential pay, PTO, and Performance Incentive Bonuses.
• $2500 allocated for CME.

Schedule Details/Additional Information

• Service provides 24/7 coverage with shift-based model. Shifts are 13 hours long and include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are rotated equally among staff.
• 145 shifts per year

Pay Range $59.00 - $88.50

• Post graduate ICU fellowship or experience in a CT-ICU.
• Interpersonal skills and critical thinking demonstrated.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• Maintenance of mechanical support competencies.
• NC licensure within 60 days of hire.
