Golfcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation in Houston, TX is seeking a Pulmonary Care Nurse (RN or LVN) to join our skilled nursing team. You will care for patients with complex respiratory needs, including ventilator and tracheostomy patients, with strong support from a collaborative interdisciplinary team.

You will assess, plan, and implement care plans for COPD, pneumonia, and respiratory failure, perform respiratory therapies, and educate patients and families on treatments and lifestyle changes

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN or LVN license, or a multistate compact license
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Pulmonary care experience is required

Responsabilités

• Assess and manage ventilator-dependent and tracheostomy patients
• Plan and evaluate care plans for pulmonary conditions
• Perform patient assessments and track respiratory progress
• Provide oxygen therapy, nebulizers, CPT, and breathing exercises
• Administer medications safely and accurately
• Conduct pulse oximetry, peak flow, and specimen collection
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team
• Educate patients and families on medications and breathing treatments

Pulmonary Care Nurse (RN/LVN) | Houston, TX
Golfcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation is hiring a Pulmonary Care Nurse (RN or LVN) for our skilled nursing team. You'll care for patients with complex respiratory needs, including those on ventilators and with tracheostomies. It's specialized work, and you'll have the time and support to do it well. If you want to build your respiratory skills in a close-knit facility where your expertise gets noticed, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

• Assess and manage ventilator-dependent and tracheostomy patients, including trach care, suctioning and airway monitoring

• Plan, carry out and evaluate care plans for residents with COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure and other pulmonary conditions

• Do patient assessments and track progress toward respiratory and rehab goals

• Give treatments such as oxygen therapy, nebulizers, manual chest physiotherapy (CPT) and breathing exercises

• Give and manage medications safely and accurately

• Do diagnostic testing such as pulse oximetry, peak flow and specimen collection

• Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team

• Teach patients and families about medications, breathing treatments, preventing illness and lifestyle changes that ease symptoms
