Job summary

Brookshire Nursing and Rehabilitation in Brookshire, TX is hiring a Pulmonary Care Nurse (RN or LVN) for our skilled nursing team. You will care for patients with complex respiratory needs, including those on ventilators and with tracheostomies.

You will assess and manage ventilator-dependent patients, plan care for COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, provide treatments like oxygen, nebulizers, CPT, and coordinate with physicians and respiratory therapists.

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN or LVN license or multistate compact license
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Pulmonary experience is required

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage ventilator-dependent and trach care patients, including trach care, suctioning and airway monitoring
• Plan, carry out and evaluate care plans for residents with COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure and other pulmonary conditions
• Do patient assessments and track progress toward respiratory and rehab goals
• Give treatments such as oxygen therapy, nebulizers, manual chest physiotherapy (CPT) and breathing exercises
• Give and manage medications safely and accurately
• Do diagnostic testing such as pulse oximetry, peak flow and specimen collection
• Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team
• Teach patients and families about medications, breathing treatments, preventing illness and lifestyle changes that ease symptoms

Brookshire Nursing and Rehabilitation is hiring a Pulmonary Care Nurse (RN or LVN) for our skilled nursing team.
