Job summary

UAB Medicine's Pulmonary Advanced Practice Provider team is expanding to include a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for inpatient care. The role supports autonomous practice within a collaborative, team-based environment and offers weekend/holiday coverage, onboarding, and mentorship for new graduates.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with an Adult Acute Care NP certification or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Based on patient assessments, formulate and implement comprehensive care plans for surgical patients.
• Document thoroughly and maintain complete patient records.
• Order, interpret, and act on laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals, ensuring age-appropriate care.
• Assist in training new clinical personnel and provide education materials.
