Job summary

UF Health Pulmonary – Durbin is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient pulmonary medicine team. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday role focused on ambulatory pulmonary care.

The APP will work with UF Health pulmonologists to evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of pulmonary and sleep-related disorders in a physician-supported environment. The schedule offers 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with no nights, weekends, or on-call requirements.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Current Florida APRN or Physician Assistant licensure.
Appropriate national board certification.
Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain DEA registration.
Current BLS certification.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient-management skills.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive outpatient pulmonary care in collaboration with attending pulmonologists.
Develop assessments and differential diagnoses based on clinical data and testing.
Create and implement individualized treatment plans with supervising physicians.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests including pulmonary function testing and imaging.
Prescribe medications and other interventions within scope of practice.
Educate patients and families on pulmonary disease, medications, inhaler and PAP therapy, smoking cessation, and prevention.
