Job summary

Association for Talent Development (ATD) is seeking a Publishing Operations & Distribution Manager in Alexandria, VA. You will oversee distribution channels, manage inventory, and coordinate rights management to support ATD’s publications including books, journals, and white papers.

The role requires strong Excel skills, CMS and database experience, and HTML knowledge. The position follows a hybrid work model with collaboration across departments and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.
• Experience with databases and CMS platforms.
• HTML knowledge and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple distribution channels (direct to customer, distributors, licensing).
• Manage inventory and metadata to minimize warehousing and shipping costs.
• Plan on-site conference bookstores, including inventory and logistics.
• Handle copyright/licensing requests and rights management support.
• Collect and validate metadata for channel-specific requirements.
• Maintain publication web pages and documentation.
• Generate royalty statements from sales data for authors.

Additionally, the department supports the editorial and creative needs of all of ATD’s business lines, including Marketing, Education, Conferences, Membership, Enterprise, and Global.We are currently looking for a Publishing Operations & Distribution Manager to manage the distribution, inventory, and metadata operations for ATD’s publishing division.
