Job summary

City of Dearborn seeks a Public Works Technician to operate a variety of vehicles and assist staff in sewer and water main repairs. You will transport equipment, use hand and power tools, and help maintain vehicles and related gear.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED; related experience preferred. A valid Michigan CDL-Class A with Air Brake endorsement is required; provision to obtain CDL within 6 months if not held.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); related experience preferred; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of vehicles to transport equipment and materials.
• Operates equipment, hand tools, and power tools in performing various labor tasks in an assigned area.
• Assists staff in performing sewer, water main, and related repairs.
• Cleans and maintains vehicles, tools, and related equipment.
• Shows regular and predictable attendance, including required meetings.
