Job summary

Haverford Township is seeking a skilled Tree Climber / Bucket Truck Operator to join our Public Works team. This role trims, prunes, climbs, and removes trees on township streets, parks, and rights-of-way, while operating bucket trucks, woodchippers, and related equipment.

You will assist with snow and ice control, emergencies, and other Public Works tasks. Candidates should have a high school diploma, 2 years tree work, and a valid CDL Class B license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in tree work, including climbing, trimming, rigging, removal.
• CDL Class B license and ongoing licensure expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree trimming, pruning, rigging, and removal.
• Operate CDL‑required bucket trucks, dump trucks, woodchippers, chainsaws.
• Load, haul, and dispose of logs, brush, wood chips, and debris.
• Perform heavy manual labor as part of tree care and Public Works.
• Participate in snow and ice control operations and emergencies.
• Attend safety meetings and training programs.
• Overtime, weekend, holiday, and emergency work as required.
• Other related duties as assigned.
