Job summary

Poarch Creek Indians is seeking a Transportation & Roads Technician to support Public Works and the Transportation Planner Director. The role involves coordinating with the BIA, researching funding options, and assisting with special projects to maintain the tribe’s transportation inventory.

Core duties include preparing documents, monitoring grants, budgeting, and coordinating with tribal departments. The position requires GIS knowledge, a Bachelor's degree, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field required.
• Three (3) years of experience with budgets including reports and approvals.
• Three (3) years of experience in IT, software management, data collection, program compliance, or program oversight.
• Must possess certification in basic ARC-GIS software or obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Preference for college level Accounting I and II.
• Must have valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Background check required.
• Willingness to travel and participate in training and events.
• Ability to perform duties adequately and successfully.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, proofread, and maintain correspondence, reports, grants, contracts, and other documents.
• Provide administrative support for Public Works, Transportation, Facilities, grants, contracts, and projects.
• Coordinate with Tribal departments and partners on projects and programs.
• Monitor grants and contracts for compliance, deadlines, budgets, expenditures, and reports.
• Prepare and track budgets, invoices, expenditures, and schedules.
• Coordinate consultant assignments, invoices, plan submittals, and communications.
• Maintain accurate records and files for department, grants, contracts, and projects.
• Support transportation programs, including planning and roadway maintenance.
• Maintain GIS data and the National Tribal Transportation Facility Inventory.
• Conduct fieldwork and collect roadway data as needed.
