Job summary

The City of Frostburg is seeking a dependable Street & Sanitation Laborer to join our team. This entry-level role focuses on solid waste collection, assisting the driver, and supporting street and sewer maintenance within municipal public works. The position offers potential wage increases with CDL and additional city trainings.

The regular schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with occasional night, weekend, and holiday shifts; overtime is possible, especially during snow removal

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Ability to obtain CDL within six months; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the back/side of a waste collection truck along a route.
• Lift and empty trash bins (40–80+ lbs).
• Assist the driver with safe navigation and backing.
• Perform vehicle and equipment safety checks and report issues.
• Work outdoors in all weather; uniforms provided.
• Assist with snow removal and other street department tasks.
