Job summary

City of Hattiesburg - Public Works is seeking a Division Manager for Solid Waste to lead Recycling, Household Waste, and Trash programs. The role requires directing all activities, planning improvements, and ensuring compliance with regulations while managing contracts and budgets.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, at least 3 years of related experience, and 3 years of managerial leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience.
• Three years of managerial experience is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of Solid Waste including Recycling, Household Waste, and Household Trash in Public Works.
• Plan, direct, and evaluate policies and procedures; ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Administer contracts for design and implementation of improvements; manage budgets and fee schedules.
• Supervise 15–20 full-time employees, oversee safety, fiscal and legal responsibilities of the division.
