Job summary

City of Naples Public Works Department is seeking a Safety and Training Manager to plan, direct, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive safety and training program across all divisions, including Water/Wastewater, Stormwater, Solid Waste, and Traffic Operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field, at least five years of occupational safety experience (with supervisory responsibilities), and strong knowledge of OSHA, FDEP, EPA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety-related field or closely related field; advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, administers, and updates a comprehensive departmental Safety Program across all divisions and sites.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, FDEP, EPA, NFPA standards, and City ordinances.
• Develops SOPs and JSAs/JHAs for all operations and tasks.
• Maintains PPE programs, conducts hazard communications, and manages SDS/MSDS.
• Conducts monthly on-site safety inspections and coordinates corrective actions.
• Oversees accident investigations with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintains safety records, training logs, and regulatory correspondence.
• Acts as MIC representative for regulatory inspections and enforcement contacts.
• Coordinates safety training calendar and mandatory training programs.
