Qualifications

• ADEM Grade 2 Water Operator certification is required.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, hazards and traffic laws relevant to equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and plans precisely.
• Strong organizational and leadership capabilities for daily operations.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to be on call after hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise municipal public works including Fleet, Building & Grounds, and Litter Control.
• Oversee water distribution, inventory, and project maintenance activities.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets and procedures for adherence.
• supervise maintenance staff and ensure safety compliance and quality.
• Maintain relationships with city officials, peers, subordinates, and the public.
• Evaluate staff performance and provide leadership for action plans.
