Job summary

County of San Juan (NM) seeks a skilled Vehicle/Equipment Technician to diagnose and repair department vehicles and mobile equipment. This role works in the shop or field and ensures repairs meet specifications for safe operation.

Work is four 10-hour days weekly, with rotating on-call coverage. The position requires high school diploma or GED, 3 years of experience, ASE certification, and a valid CDL Class A or the ability to obtain one within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required with 3 years experience repairing vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
• ASE certification is required or may be waived based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair department vehicles and mobile and stationary powered equipment in shop or field.
• Ensure repairs comply with specifications and provide for safe operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors and related equipment.
• Utilize ERP system to process maintenance tasks and records.
• Operate and troubleshoot using precision measuring instruments.
