City of Burlington, NC is seeking a part-time Street Maintenance Assistant to maintain city streets, sidewalks, and related infrastructure. The role involves manual labor, operating equipment, and performing landscape tasks across multiple sites.

You will shovel, patch pavement, haul materials, trim landscaping, and support water/wastewater maintenance crews. A valid NC driver’s license and a high school diploma are required; some experience is desirable.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
• Some experience (up to four years) in services work is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine manual labor to maintain the city's streets, ensuring safety and usability.
• Operate and service a variety of equipment, including trucks and small machinery.
• Patch pavement, excavate, backfill, and patch ground surfaces as needed.
• Transport debris and materials to and from work sites with dump trucks.
• Perform landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and pruning.
• Assist with snow and ice management to ensure safe passage.
