Job summary

The City of Sunrise is seeking a reliable Maintenance Worker to perform routine manual work in building, streets, sewers, water lines, and related installations.

You will drive trucks and equipment, assist with concrete work, cut lawns and trim shrubs, install signs, and maintain safety on job sites. Shift is Sunday to Thursday 1:30 PM–9:30 PM with off Friday and Saturday; training provided; a Florida driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalency
• Proof of highest level of completed education must be submitted as an attachment with the application.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads construction materials such as dirt, shell, sand, cement, timbers and reinforcing steel.
• Repairs leaks in mains; digs and backfills ditches; installs drain pipes; maintains drainage and street infrastructure.
• Operates light and heavy vehicles and construction equipment to support job sites.
• Install Temporary Traffic Control for safety and manage traffic around work zones.
• Keeps grounds clean; sweeps walks; loads/unloads equipment; assists with concrete work and road maintenance.
