Job summary

The Town of Scarborough is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker/Plow Truck Driver to join its Public Works team. You will operate trucks and equipment for road maintenance, snow and ice removal, and related construction tasks.

Responsibilities include loading, unloading, repair work, and assisting in park, cemetery, and beach upkeep. A Class A or B CDL is required, with on-call availability from mid-November to mid-April and a pre-employment physical.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CDL required for the role.
• Class A or B license is required for driving heavy trucks.
• Pre-employment physical to verify physical ability and agility.

Responsibilities

• Operate light and moderately heavy trucks and motorized equipment in road maintenance and snow removal.
• Assist in loading/unloading, and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Repair storm drains and culverts, patch roads, and perform debris cleanup as needed.
• Maintain parks, cemeteries, and beaches; support in landscaping work.
• Work on-call 24 hours during winter, report within 60 minutes of call-out.
